Discover six trends for the payments market in 2025

Pix, payment for approximation, digital wallets and many others; the means of payments have already won the hearts – and pockets – of Brazilians. Since the implementation of PIX, the number of users and transactions only grows; according to the Central Bank, 58 billions have been carried out through the tool in 2024. The expectation for 2025 is that these methods will be even more refined. With that in mind, Evertec+Sinqia did a survey to find out what will be the main trends that will shape the market in 2025.

Among the most anticipated novelties for the year are the new features that PIX will offer, which promise a more practical and faster experience: the PIX by approach and the automatic. As of February 2025, it will be possible to make payment via PIX using NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. The automatic arrives in June of this year, and aims to allow recurring payments without the need to open the banking application.

The payments sector in Brazil is dynamic, diverse and should continue to be an example for other Latin American and world countries. There is a favorable cultural component because, in general, Brazil is quite open to experimenting with new technologies, but there is also the resilience of the Brazilian financial system, improved after so many difficult years of hyperinflation. This year, IA should accelerate the transformations in the payment market and bring even more efficiency, convenience and security to transactions. – Declares the vice president of Payments at Evertec, Daniel Oliveira.

Other payment methods, such as mobile payments, Click to Pay, Drex and digital wallets, also appear in the survey as possible bets for this year. To learn more about the details of the analysis prepared by Evertec+Sinqia, access the material HERE Or download the material below in full!
