With over 300,000 users, 20 million connections, and hundreds of couples formed, the dating app Denga Love announces its international expansion. Launched in Brazil in 2022 with a focus on the Black community, the platform was officially introduced in Cape Verde during the country's 50th independence anniversary celebrations. Starting in August, the app will be available in six new markets: Guinea-Bissau, Angola, São Tomé and Príncipe, Mozambique, Portugal, Spain, and Senegal.
Beyond expanding its geographical presence, Denga Love it reaffirms its purpose of promoting genuine and representative connections among Black people. The platform aims to create a global affective network that values the identity, culture, and ancestry of Black people. “Our mission has always been to connect people authentically and safely while celebrating Black diversity. Now, we are taking this mission beyond Brazilian borders, building affective bridges across the diaspora,” emphasizes Fillipe Dornelas, CEO of Denga Love.
The selection of countries for expansion is strategic: all share strong historical and cultural ties with Brazil and are home to significant Black populations, which often lack representation in traditional dating apps. “Denga Love aims to fill this gap by strengthening a global network of connections among Black people,” highlights Fillipe.
With internationalization, the platform plans to launch new features that enhance the user experience while respecting the particularities of each cultural context. “We aim to be more than a dating app: we are a movement that unites stories, cultures, and affections of the Black community worldwide,” states Barbara Brito, COO of Denga Love.
Available for download on Google Play and the Apple Store, Denga Love it celebrates this strategic advancement as a milestone in valuing global Black identity, connecting stories of love and representation beyond Brazil's borders.
