Considered one of the most important dates for Brazilian commerce, Black Friday officially opens the holiday shopping season. The search for deals moves billions of reais in Brazil – in 2024, total sales reached R$ 4.27 billion, an increase of 8.4% compared to the previous year. In terms of units sold, the increase was 9.4%, according to a survey conducted by Neotrust Confi, a company providing intelligence solutions for online retail.
Some establishments take advantage of the period of increased money injected into the economy and are not limited to just one day of promotions, extending offers and sales throughout the entire month of November. A change perceived by the market is that the date is no longer restricted to searches for consumer goods deals, such as electronics, for example.
This is stated by Leonardo Furtado, Superintendent of Auto Shopping Internacional, an auto mall that brings together over 25 used car dealerships in a single space. According to him, people are seeing opportunities for larger investments, such as purchasing automobiles. “This time of year has become strategic for sales, as people use their 13th salary and the Black Friday period to fulfill dreams. And swapping the family car is one of them,” he states.
Leonardo, in fact, says that retailers take advantage of the period by offering deals throughout the entire month. “We will not limit ourselves only to the 28th, the day Black Friday falls this year. We have over 1,500 used vehicles with attractive prices and warranty. The customer can choose calmly and see what is best for their budget: payment in up to 60 installments, the first installment due in 2026, and being able to use their used vehicle as a trade-in,” he concludes.
For 2025, in Brazil, a sales increase of 16.5% compared to 2024 is projected, according to a survey conducted by the consultancy Gauge in partnership with the agency W3haus.
