Following the recent adjustment of the minimum delivery fee, iFood announces a new package of benefits for partner delivery drivers on the platform. Focusing on financial predictability and improving work routines, the new package introduces innovations in three main areas: fee-free advance payments, destination-based route planning, and a rewards program for high-performing delivery drivers.
Starting in July, iFood delivery drivers will be able to advance their payments without any fees. Currently, payments are made weekly, but with the new feature, it will be possible to request an advance directly through the app and receive it on the same day. This is an exclusive benefit in the sector, available to more frequent professionals on the app, ensuring greater liquidity and financial control.
In the second area, iFood announces destination-based route planning. With this feature, which will be tested starting in August, delivery drivers will be able to direct the region they would like to go to during deliveries, optimizing travel and facilitating journey organization, such as on the way home.
“The destination route was a request from the delivery drivers themselves, who brought this pain point to our listening channels. The suggestion was taken to the technology team, and now the improvement will be implemented nationwide by the end of the year. Since 2021, iFood has maintained continuous listening forums with the category. Another example of this is the rewards program, which was born in one of our Working Groups with delivery drivers,” says Johnny Borges, Director of Social Impact at iFood.
Rewards Program
In addition to fee-free advance payments and the new route planning feature, iFood is launching Super Delivery Drivers—the first rewards program in the sector in Brazil. The initiative was created to recognize and reward delivery drivers more engaged with the platform, valuing professionals who excel in the operation. Among the main benefits are:
- Extra earnings:Delivery drivers who reach Gold or Diamond categories gain access to exclusive promotions and missions, with estimated earnings up to 30% above the base average. Additionally, they accumulate badges that can be exchanged for credits in the Delivery Driver Store, with an annual bonus of up to R$3,000 in cash.
- Exclusive benefits:discounts and free services on essential items, such as vehicle maintenance and cell phone plans.
- Experiences:participation in prize draws for items like motorcycles, helmets, and tickets to shows and movies.
The Rewards Program debut is scheduled for July, starting in São Paulo, with plans to expand to other regions soon.
“Delivery drivers are a fundamental part of the iFood ecosystem. Valuing them is, above all, recognizing the essential role they play in the daily lives of millions of Brazilians. We are continuously listening and investing in solutions that generate more earnings, more comfort, and more predictability for those who choose iFood to maximize their income,” says Johnny.
How much does an iFood delivery driver earn?
In March 2025, iFood recorded the milestone of 400 thousand active delivery drivers on the platformtregadores ativos na plataforma, representing a 40% increase compared to 2024.
With over 120 million monthly orders and more than 400 thousand partner merchants, delivery drivers working with iFood have an average earnings of R$12 per route during weekends. Additionally, no motorcycle delivery driver earns less than R$7.50 per route, regardless of day, time, or region, even for the shortest routes. There are also no commissions or fees for using the platform, and customer tips are fully passed on.
According to the iFood Data Portal, the average gross earnings per hour worked on the platform in 2024 was R$28. “Considering this value, a professional who delivers 3 hours per day on iFood has a gross income exceeding R$2,500 per month. This is the most common profile among the platform’s delivery drivers—those who choose iFood to supplement their income. Meanwhile, the average earnings for more engaged workers (with over 180 hours worked per month) is R$28.60 per hour in deliveries. A worker with this profile and a workload of 44 hours per week, has a gross monthly income exceeding R$5,000,” explains Johnny Borges.
With the launch of a new package of improvements, iFood reinforces its leadership position in the sector by continuing to listen to and address the demands of the category. The platform stands out as the app that generates the most orders for delivery drivers in Brazil and consolidates itself as the one offering the best earnings in the category. This reach is the result of consistent efforts, focusing on technology, logistics, and user experience.
