The Brazilian Association of Human Resources of Sao Paulo (ABRH-SP) is taking a firm stand against the backsliding in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies in organizations. At a time when large corporations, especially in the United States, are reducing their efforts in this area, Brazil seeks to stand out as a global example of ongoing commitment to DEI.
On August 21, ABRH-SP will launch the manifesto “No to the backsliding of the diversity agenda!” during a special event that will bring together executives and CEOs of large Brazilian companies.
Luiz Eduardo Drouet, President of the Executive Board of ABRH-SP, highlights the opportunity for Brazil to become a world reference: “While we see a worrying setback in other countries, Brazil has the chance to show that DEI is not a fad, but a strategic need for the future of” organizations.
The manifesto, which will be signed by leaders of various organizations, reaffirms the importance of not only preserving, but expanding advances in the area of IED. Drouet emphasizes that more actions and investments are needed, as they boost innovation, competitiveness and sustainable development.
ABRH-SP calls on all companies and professionals to join this movement, aiming to solidify Brazil as a global leader in this essential agenda. The event promises to be a milestone in the fight for diversity and inclusion in the Brazilian corporate environment, contrasting with the regressive trends observed in other countries.
