The Starlink, SpaceX’s satellite internet company, completed three years of operation in Brazil in 2025. The company has accumulated around 313,000 connections, according to the latest report by the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) from November of the previous year. This scope makes the company the 16th largest in the Brazilian internet market but the leader in the satellite connection segment, accounting for nearly 60% of subscribers in this segment. However, the number of complaints against it has also increased exponentially, reinforcing the importance of specialized providers in connectivity solutions.
Elon Musk’s company offers high-speed, low-latency internet through a constellation of low-orbit satellites, promising a fast and stable connection, even in remote areas or places without terrestrial infrastructure. In this scenario, its service is ideal for smaller businesses located in remote regions but may not be the best choice for larger companies. Reflecting these subtle pros and cons that are not widely known, complaints against the company increased by 168% in 2024 in Brazil compared to the previous year, according to the platform Reclame Aqui, reinforcing the importance of understanding the recommended uses for satellite connections and professional support when subscribing.
“Many people have heard about Starlink and its expansion, but not everyone realized that its use is not the most suitable for all cases. Businesses prioritizing stability, security, and quick resolution support should consider other formats, and the lack of this knowledge has led many to perceive the company’s proposed connection negatively. Our expertise in connectivity solutions comes into play here as a differentiator for companies seeking a specialized provider capable of delivering the best connection to them,” says Murillo Carvalho, Operations Director at Briskcom, a provider specialized in highly reliable satellite connectivity solutions.
According to the expert, Starlink is a good option for residential users or small businesses needing fast and affordable internet. However, for more robust companies relying on stable and secure connections for their operations, the U.S.-based service may not be the best choice. “Despite its advantages, it does not offer guarantees of availability or service quality, and its customer support is limited. For businesses depending on stable and secure connections, it’s important to rely on a specialized provider that can offer quality service and responsive support,” he states.
