Startup helps companies find technology professionals

Brazil trains over 50,000 information technology professionals annually. On the other end, companies across various economic sectors increasingly demand this highly skilled workforce. How to establish this connection between both sides? A startup from Curitiba is lending a helping hand, contributing to eliminating this bottleneck in the innovation sector and reducing recruitment process costs by 80%.

Founded in 2019, Koud has over 200 companies in its portfolio from various parts of Brazil that have used its tech recruitment, tech allocation, and RPO (recruitment process outsourcing) services—loosely translated as ‘talent hunting,’ recruiting, and placing these talents in the market. This is explained by the startup’s founder and CEO, Frederico Sieck. ‘With the shortage of innovation professionals in the market—estimates suggest Brazil will face a deficit of over 500,000 by 2029—the search, competition, and rivalry for opportunities are intense. Therefore, the search must be thorough and precise.’ 

In this sense, although the first step for this bridge is via technology, the entire subsequent process is humanized, conducted by a team of experts responsible for meticulous research and recruitment. ‘Koud’s first step is to approach professionals who have the qualities sought by its clients, based on resume analysis, skills, and interests,’ Sieck explains.

The candidate doesn’t necessarily have to be someone available in the market looking for a job. On the contrary. Depending on the specificity of the position, it’s possible to reach out to employed professionals. ‘If there’s interest from them, we have an initial conversation where we present the hiring company and identify a potential cultural fit (affinity, value compatibility) between both parties.’

Once the interest is confirmed and the candidate accepts, Koud forwards the professional to the company requesting the hire. From then on, it follows through with the process. ‘We offer a three-month guarantee to the company, and if there’s a termination during this period, KOUD returns to the market and makes a new recommendation free of charge,’ emphasizes the startup’s CEO.

In the allocation service provided by Koud, the procedure is similar. ‘The difference is that, in this case, we handle the hiring and allocate the professional to the client company. After one year of contract, the company can then hire the professional directly,’ Sieck details. ‘This speeds up the hiring process, reduces turnover, and increases the assertiveness of professionals joining the company’s workforce, as they already align technically and culturally.’
