A Simpress, a company specializing in IT equipment outsourcing, recorded nearly double the number of sustainable (refurbished) devices shipped to clients under its outsourcing system, from 8,900 units in 2023 to 16,700 units in 2024, an 87.6% increase – including notebooks, printers, data collectors, thermal printers, mobile phones, and tablets. The use of refurbished devices contributes to the circular economy by extending the lifespan of equipment and reducing waste generation. Clients who choose sustainable equipment also benefit from included maintenance and repair services, eliminating concerns about hardware.
Equipment shipments and returns are handled at the SSC (Simpress Service Center) in Santana de Parnaíba, São Paulo. To maximize device reuse and meet growing demand, Simpress implemented a third work shift (10 PM to 6 AM) in 2024 at the PC Lab operating within the SSC. This department is dedicated to inspecting and preparing returned devices, making them ready more quickly for new contracts.
Additionally, Simpress is the first company in its sector to offer carbon offsetting for the electricity consumption of equipment used by its clients. The company aims to achieve 100% carbon-neutral installed base by 2030. Beyond carbon compensation and promoting the circular economy, Simpress’s outsourcing model ensures proper device disposal and reduces unnecessary purchases of new equipment.
Surge in shipment volume
Throughout 2024, Simpress also doubled its shipments of refurbished and used equipment to clients across Brazil after expanding its logistics capacity and optimizing internal processes. The average monthly shipment volume increased from 750 to 1,400 devices.
“The surge in shipment volume at the Simpress Service Center stems from multiple factors, including the current outsourcing market growth, the company’s operational efficiency, and value-added service layers like monitoring centers and security controls. Our extensive technical support network also contributed to these results,” says Georgia Rivellino, Director of Marketing, Products, and Solutions at Simpress. “Our strategy focuses on delivering comprehensive solutions quickly to simplify our clients’ lives. We also align with best sustainability practices and are committed to circularity. The best destination for a device is returning it to use.”
With over 700,000 devices deployed across companies nationwide—including Pague Menos, Cobasi, Yamaha, Hermes Pardini, Dasa, and Harald—Simpress reported gross revenue of 800 million reais in the first half of 2024, a 12% increase compared to the same period the previous year. Currently, the company serves outsourcing demands in over 4,200 of Brazil’s 5,500 municipalities, covering 75% of cities and 95% of the country’s population.
With 60 of Brazil’s top 100 companies as clients, Simpress’s outsourcing solution goes beyond leasing: it offers complete management and delivery of customized, ready-to-use devices, including continuous support and monitoring to ensure optimal equipment performance. In cases of breakdown or theft, replacements are swift, minimizing client impact. The company stands out for nationwide service coverage, aggressive SLAs, and comprehensive solutions integrating multiple services. Security is also prioritized to ensure efficient management and protection of the device fleet.
