Prime Video announces today the agreement with Televisa Univision for the inclusion of the series El Chavo e El Chapulín Colorado in the Latin America catalog, in the second half of the year. Except in Mexico, the licensing ensures the premiere of all episodes on streaming, totaling over 500 episodes of the productions. The two iconic pop culture series developed by Roberto Gómez Bolaños have become television classics and will be the latest additions to the Amazon Prime subscription. Prime members in Brazil enjoy savings, convenience, and entertainment, all in a single subscription.
Created in the 70s, and with a legion of fans around the world, especially in Brazil, El Chavo tells the story of a humble and clumsy young boy who grows up in a small village alongside his friends Chiquinha and Kiko, as they deal with everyday situations with great humor.
In the same universe, El Chapulín Colorado follows the adventures of El Chapulín Colorado, an insecure superhero who uses his wit and unconventional powers to fight his villains. With different plots each episode, the series combines the characteristic humor of Bolaños’ productions with social critique and satire of American heroes. The casts of the productions include Roberto Gómez Bolaños, María Antonieta de las Nieves, Carlos Villagrán, Florinda Meza, Ramón Valdés, Edgar Vivar, Rubén Aguirre, Angelines Fernández, among others.
