Temperatures lower than average this June have boosted sales of products to cope with the cold wave in June. According to a survey by Nuvemshop, the leading e-commerce platform in Latin America, from June 1 to 12, 2025, online SMEs sold 90,000 cold-related products, generating revenue of R$11.4 million, 45% more than the same period the previous year.
Among the items sold were jackets, sweatshirts, coats, hats, and boots. With boots alone, for example, merchants saw a 93% revenue growth, rising from R$1.2 million in 2024 to R$2.3 million in 2025, with over 7,000 units sold this year.
“We have observed that sudden temperature changes also directly impact online shopping behavior, increasing demand for items that provide more comfort during these periods. In the same period in 2024, we had an unseasonal heatwave that also affected commerce. Temperature spikes create sales opportunities for merchants who closely monitor weather changes and prepare to quickly respond to new consumer demands,” says Raissa Lisboa, Customer Experience Manager at Nuvemshop.
The analysis considered sales made between June 1 and 12, 2024, and 2025 by Nuvemshop’s base of Brazilian merchants.
