Registrations for the fourth edition of the Hangar Program, an initiative by PUCRS’ Vice-Rectory of Research and Graduate Studies (Propesq) in partnership with Tecnopuc, close this Wednesday, August 13. The program will select project ideas led by master’s and doctoral students from Graduate Programs at higher education institutions and connect them to PUCRS’ innovation ecosystem, seeking to explore business opportunities from research. Registration is free and can be completed on the program’s website.
The initiative aims to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among master’s and doctoral students by providing weekly contact over three months with lectures and workshops led by industry professionals, networking with entrepreneurs, practical activities, and personalized mentoring for each project.
The program is divided into tracks to assist researchers in exploring the business potential of their research. The entrepreneurial development tracks are offered as necessary program stages, consisting of different methods used to understand and integrate the research project into the market innovation context.
The program will include in-person and online activities, with a certificate awarded to those who attend 75% of the activities and deliver the final pitch. Topics covered in the program include: Innovation Ecosystem, Intellectual Property, Access to Capital, and Business Models.
To participate in the Hangar selection process, applicants must provide a brief description of their project idea, explain its objectives, and assess its market application potential.
Awards
The master’s and doctoral students who achieve the highest scores in their final project presentations will receive registration and travel funding to attend an entrepreneurship and innovation event, participation in one of Tecnopuc’s startup development programs, and coworking space at Tecnopuc.
