iFood and Mottu announce unprecedented partnership to expand exclusive benefits for delivery drivers

iFood, a Brazilian technology company, and Mottu, the country’s largest motorcycle rental platform, have announced a partnership to expand benefits for delivery workers in Brazil. The initiative reduces barriers and enables more people to access motorcycles for delivery work, including those with financial constraints. The collaboration offers exclusive benefits for those who deliver for iFood and already rent their vehicle with Mottu or wish to start a rental, focusing on increased earnings, reduced costs, and more daily support.

Starting in September, delivery workers across the country will have access to extra earnings, easier access to fuel-efficient vehicles with IPVA included, as well as support in case of theft, and more convenience. Key benefits include:

  • Increased earnings– Professionals who rent motorcycles through Mottu and work for iFood can boost their income with exclusive benefits. For each completed challenge, which involves completing a specific number of deliveries within certain periods, the delivery worker can earn up to R$350 extra per month. Additionally, those who maintain a high occupancy rate can secure up to a 10% return in Mottu Cash, a credit converted from the rental payment that can be used for expenses. In practice, this means more revenue per delivery and greater potential for daily earnings.
  • Discounts– New delivery workers with both companies will have easier access to economical motorcycles, with up to a 20% discount on the deposit and special conditions to start or renew the rental contract.
  • Convenience– Some Mottu workshops are in the testing phase to serve as support points for delivery workers. They already offer maintenance services for the brand’s motorcycles and resting areas.
  • Savings– Mottu’s plans ensure cost predictability and can generate significant fuel savings (60 km/l, almost double the average of conventional motorcycles). The model, with daily rates starting at R$19, is already competitive compared to other daily costs, offering more predictability to the delivery worker and ensuring increased net earnings.

To access the benefits, individuals must be over 18 years old, registered on both apps, and have a valid National Driver’s License (CNH) in category A. The process can be completed entirely online. Additionally, the companies are considering implementing a simplified registration process for those who want to join both companies.

“Our priority is to support those who are on the streets every day. That’s why this partnership seeks to offer practical solutions that help delivery workers gain more autonomy and better income easily,” says Johnny Borges, iFood’s Director of Social Impact.

Rubens Zanelatto, CEO of Mottu, adds: “At Mottu, anyone who wants to get a motorcycle finds an accessible and hassle-free path. With the partnership with iFood, in addition to easier access to the most economical motorcycles on the market, delivery workers will have special conditions and extra earnings, making this the best option for those who want to work in delivery.”

The program is exclusive to active iFood delivery workers and Mottu renters, reinforcing the platforms’ position as the best options for those who want to work in delivery in Brazil. Today, iFood has around 450,000 active delivery workers in over 1,500 cities and continues to expand its investments in solutions that offer unique advantages for those who work with the company.

The partnership strengthens iFood’s logistical reach and solidifies Mottu as a strategic partner in providing more economical vehicles and technical support for delivery workers. The vehicles available at Mottu stores offer IPVA exemption, licensing, support in case of theft, third-party damage coverage, and 24/7 assistance.

The partnership with Mottu further strengthens iFood’s package of benefits, which has been consistently expanded to support the platform’s delivery workers in various areas. The initiative complements iFood Super – a program that recognizes the most engaged professionals with financial benefits. These actions reinforce iFood’s commitment to continuously valuing delivery workers, promoting mobility, savings, technical support, and more opportunities for those on the streets every day.

Partnerships

iFood has advanced its partnership agenda with companies that share the same culture of innovation and technology, offering solutions to different parts of the ecosystem, focusing on generating value for delivery workers, merchants, and consumers.

Already in the pilot phase, the initiative is expected to involve over 5,000 motorcyclists, with close monitoring of earnings and savings generated. Currently, Mottu has over 130,000 rented motorcycles eligible to participate in the partnership with iFood, as well as a network of 146 physical locations in over 120 Brazilian cities.

“Our goal is to establish partnerships that strengthen our value proposition even further, with consistent solutions for partner establishments, consumers, and delivery workers. We understand that the benefit is never just for the directly impacted audience—it reflects across the entire ecosystem. And that’s iFood’s vision when bringing closer companies that are transforming their fields, like Mottu,” says Thiago Viana, iFood’s Senior Director of Innovation.
