IAS launches report by contextual categories on Meta platforms, enhancing precision and optimization for advertisers

Integral Ad Science (Nasdaq: IAS), one of the largest global media measurement and optimization platforms, announces the launch of contextual category reports for Meta platforms (Nasdaq: META), expanding the measurement spectrum for media in Feed and Reels formats on Facebook and Instagram. The launch reinforces IAS’s ongoing collaboration with Meta to provide reliable, independent third-party solutions for media measurement and optimization. The new feature aligns measurement reports with the contextual categories available in IAS’s pioneering Content Block Lists solution for Meta, supporting advertisers in their performance and brand suitability goals.

“We are closing the loop for advertisers by providing granular, reliable, AI-powered insights across Meta, fueling optimization solutions to protect brand value, minimize waste, and maximize return on investment,” said Lisa Utzschneider, CEO of Integral Ad Science. “Measurement reports aligned with contextual categories mean greater coverage and performance for our clients’ campaigns on Meta platforms.”

As part of the Total Media Quality (TMQ) solution for Meta, contextual category reports provide advertisers with the most accurate and actionable measurements for brand safety and suitability. TMQ is powered by IAS’s multimedia technology, which performs frame-by-frame analysis of videos—considering images, audio, and text—to deliver the most precise measurement at scale. Advertisers using IAS’s Content Block List solution can now access the new contextual reports.

With Meta’s contextual reports, advertisers gain:

  • Greater transparency: Expanded visibility into the contextual suitability of content adjacent to ads in Feed and Reels, with reliable third-party analysis.
  • Equivalent measurement reports: Aligned with the same contextual categories as IAS’s Content Block List solution for Meta.
  • Expanded contextual categories: Over 46 categories available—including Politics, Natural Disasters, Religion, Family and Parenting – Children’s Content, among others—with global coverage in 34 languages.

In October 2024, IAS announced the launch of its pioneering Content Block Lists for Meta, after being selected as the vendor to develop this optimization solution. In April 2024, IAS expanded its Brand Safety and Suitability Measurement to include the misinformation category, aligned with industry standards for Facebook and Instagram Feed and Reels formats. Earlier in February 2024, the company announced the availability of its AI-powered TMQ for Brand Safety and Suitability on Meta platforms, offering advertisers advanced, industry-leading coverage.
