He created a software and earned R$25 million by selling it to a retail giant

Johnny Soares can be described as a dreamer driven by determination. With resilience and strategic vision, he turned obstacles into opportunities, founding Sinctec Sistemas, a venture that would change how some of the largest transportation and e-commerce companies in the country manage their logistics operations. His greatest achievement? Developing innovative software that, in a short time, began processing millions of deliveries for Brazil’s largest retailers, optimizing processes, offering real-time visibility, and establishing him as a true pioneer in the sector.

A natural entrepreneur since the age of 12, he tried everything: from street markets in São Paulo to industries, pharmacies, and even selling funeral plans. But it was in technology that he found his calling. “I only got my first PC at 18. Technology was a luxury I couldn’t afford before that,” he recalls. Through dedication and study, he earned a scholarship to study Computer Science, and while still in college, he secured his first internship in software development, thus beginning his journey in the tech industry.

In 2013, Johnny invited his friends Jeihson, Diego, and Orlando to become his partners at Sinctec Sistemas. Even while facing the common challenges of a new business, he remained steadfast in his vision to build something truly transformative for clients. In a short time, the team grew, and within just one year of operation, the company had 12 employees and began attracting market attention. However, the economic crisis of 2015 and 2016 brought significant obstacles. High delinquency rates and operational costs forced Johnny to reconsider the business model. It was then that he decided to bet on proprietary products, marking the start of a new, more mature and strategic phase.

The development of the million-dollar software

One of the biggest milestones in his journey was the creation of an innovative e-commerce transportation management platform, launched in 2017 by Sinctec Sistemas. Developed entirely by the team, under his leadership at every stage—from planning to implementation—the solution transformed logistics control and optimization for large companies. That same year, the first contracts were signed, and the results quickly followed: millions of deliveries began being processed each year. “It’s hard to find a Brazilian who hasn’t received a package managed by our platform,” Johnny reflects proudly.

Major retailers began adopting the software, monitoring their operations in real time, and satisfied with the results, started recommending it to partners. “That’s when I realized we were transforming e-commerce logistics in Brazil,” he recalls. In 2019, the platform reached 5 million monitored deliveries, tracking thousands of products, boosting client efficiency, and surpassing R$ 1 billion in transported goods value. Companies that adopted the solution saw their results skyrocket—some grew by up to 1500% in just two years. “Seeing how positively this impacted daily operations was incredibly rewarding,” he shares. The numbers speak for themselves. Beyond growth, the technology helped redefine what success means in the logistics sector.

The pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 brought unprecedented challenges and a unique opportunity. With the boom in online shopping, the demand for efficient logistics surged, and Sinctec’s platform became essential. Transportation companies and retailers turned to the solution to manage deliveries swiftly, and the software made an impressive leap: by 2020, it was processing 1.5 million deliveries per month, supporting the operations of major brands amid the chaos. “The pandemic tested our capabilities, but we turned the challenge into an opportunity,” he notes.

The platform’s performance quickly caught the market’s attention. That same year, acquisition offers began pouring in. After an intense negotiation period, at just 34 years old, the entrepreneur finalized the sale of the software to a retail giant in a multi-million-dollar transaction. “For someone who grew up in the outskirts of the east side, living something like this feels surreal,” he admits. He acknowledges that the journey was full of obstacles but highlights the crucial role of the team by his side. “It wasn’t easy, but with this team, I feel like we could achieve anything,” he says proudly. The journey that began amidst challenges became a testament to resilience and achievement.

The numbers are impressive: the platform surpassed 50 million deliveries per year, moving over 10 billion reais in goods. These results clearly demonstrate the scale of its impact and the solution’s growth potential.

After four years leading the product sold to a retail giant, driving innovations and transforming the company’s logistics, Johnny Soares decided to return to entrepreneurship with renewed energy. Alongside his partners and a team of over 30 talented professionals, he dove into new projects—including Associatec, a solution for the third sector, alongside tailored consulting services and, of course, new logistics tool development.

The next chapter in this journey is taking his solutions beyond Brazil and continuing to bet on cutting-edge technology. “We’re excited about this new generation of solutions we’re developing,” says Johnny, with a spark in his eyes.

From a boy who started working very young to help at home to becoming the creator of a product that generated over 25 million reais in revenue, his story shows that innovation and resilience go hand in hand in building a solid and transformative business.
