Discover the Key Pix Releases for 2025

Pix, which is already the most widely used payment method in Brazil, continues to evolve with new features that promise to bring even more convenience, security, and speed to its users in 2025. Developed by the Central Bank, the instant payment system has established itself as an indispensable tool in the country, and the innovations planned for this year promise to further enhance its functionality.

According to the survey by the Central Bank, titled ‘The Brazilian and Their Relationship with Money,’ Pix is used by 76.4% of the population, followed by debit cards, used by 69.1%, and paper money, used by 68.9% of people. ‘Pix is already consolidated and, in addition to replacing other payment and transfer methods, it will introduce even more innovations this year,’ emphasizes Ticiana Amorim, CEO and founder of Aarin Tech-fin.

The Automatic Pix is a feature that allows for automatic recurring payments. The new modality will be advantageous for those who use subscription services, such as streaming services for music and video, gyms, and subscription clubs. Users will be able to set up periodic transfers in a practical and secure way, eliminating the need for repeated manual authorizations.

‘This innovation will bring even more convenience to consumers and greater predictability for businesses. The feature was designed with robust security mechanisms to ensure users have full control over their recurring payments,’ says Ticiana.

Another highlight for 2025 is Pix by Proximity, which uses NFC technology (Near Field Communication) to make payments even faster and simpler. With this feature, users will only need to bring their smartphone or another enabled device, such as a smartwatch, close to a payment terminal to complete the transaction, without needing to open the bank app.

‘Pix by Proximity is set to transform the shopping experience, especially in situations that demand speed, such as public transportation, food courts, and retail,’ says the CEO. Additionally, the technology aligns with global contactless payment trends, reinforcing Brazil’s position as one of the most advanced countries in financial innovations.

Another aspect expected to be enhanced in 2025 is security. According to the Central Bank, greater transaction traceability will be implemented to combat scams and fraud. The system will be able to identify suspicious patterns in real time, allowing transactions to be blocked or reviewed before they are completed.
