Corporate tourism in Brazil celebrates the end of 2024 with impressive numbers: according to the latest sector survey conducted in October by FecomercioSP, in partnership with the Latin American Association of Event and Corporate Travel Management (Alagev), revenue reached R$130 billion. Year-to-date and compared to the same period in 2023, growth was 5.3%, the highest percentage in the historical series started in 2011.
Unlike leisure tourism, corporate tourism focuses on efficiency. According to Beatriz Oliveira, founder and CEO of Pervoy Turismo, an agency specialized in personalized travel, corporate trips need to be organized quickly, efficiently, and centrally.
“The agency should offer tools and resources that streamline the process and minimize the time employees spend organizing the trip. We must always be attentive to unforeseen events, especially concerning flight schedule changes. Readiness and flexibility are crucial at this point,” notes Beatriz.
The agency oversees every detail of trip organization, with 24-hour support—even post-trip. “At the end of the trip, the company’s HR receives a complete report with all expenses, making the employee reimbursement process easier.” For Beatriz, the key is having flexible planning that offers employees flight, accommodation, and transportation options tailored to their preferences and schedules, making the trip more comfortable and less tiring.
The expert also highlights a growing trend that is expected to solidify in modern companies by 2025: the so-called bleisure, which combines business and leisure travel. “The millennial generation (people born between 1981 and 1995), in particular, values experiences and seeks a balance between work and personal life. This shift in behavior has prompted companies to rethink their corporate travel policies, including leisure activities in business itineraries,” says Beatriz.
According to her, with the return to in-person work after the global pandemic between 2020 and 2023, this trend is driven by the pursuit of a better quality of life and the need to balance professional and personal demands. “Besides increasing employee satisfaction, the bleisure ensures their well-being, as they take advantage of business trips to explore the local culture.”
In 2024, the most requested destinations for corporate tourism at Pervoy Turismo were: Bahia, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Colombia, the USA, and Mozambique.
