Campaign on iFood mobilizes donations to expand access to Tech Marathon 2025

Until June 26th, iFood users can participate in the largest educational mobilization in the country by supporting the donation campaign of Tech Marathon 2025, the premier technology competition among Brazilian schools. Donations made through the app will be doubled by Rocketseat, up to a limit of R$100,000, significantly expanding the initiative’s reach. The campaign results from a partnership between iFood, Rocketseat, Movimento Tech 2030 (Movtec), and Cactus Association, with the support of key sponsors like Siemens Foundation, IBM, Google Cloud, Vonixx, J. Macêdo, Behring Foundation, Mercado Livre, Arco Instituto, and Instituto Coca-Cola Brasil.

The main goal of this initiative is to combat school dropout rates and expand young people’s access to technology education, promoting social inclusion and transformation across the country. Led by the Cactus Association in partnership with Movimento Tech 2030, and with the support of iFood, Mercado Livre, and Instituto Coca-Cola Brasil, Tech Marathon is a free competition for public and private schools. Through hands-on and collaborative experiences, the initiative sparks students’ interest in technology and strengthens their future skills.

In 2024, Tech Marathon mobilized around 200,000 students and 4,000 teachers across Brazil, with a notable female participation rate (56.7%) and significant representation of Black or mixed-race educators (50.4%). For 2025, the goal is to impact over 300,000 young people with technology training and digital inclusion. ‘The union of these organizations strengthens our commitment to democratizing access to technology, creating opportunities for youth from diverse regions and social backgrounds,’ says Marina Novais, Innovation Director at Cactus Association. ‘By doubling donations, Rocketseat amplifies the impact of Tech Marathon, which has already transformed the lives of thousands of students and teachers by offering practical and inspiring experiences in the tech world.’

Participating students compete for medals, laptops, courses, and immersive experiences – essential incentives to spark vocations and reduce inequalities in tech access. By enabling support directly via smartphones, the campaign also reinforces civil society’s role in building a fairer, more innovative, and inclusive future.

For Movimento Tech 2030, this campaign represents concrete progress in promoting digital inclusion. ‘Ensuring technology education is accessible to all is an urgent challenge. Tech Marathon proves it’s possible to create real, transformative, and inclusive opportunities for students across all regions of Brazil,’ highlights Movimento Tech in an official statement.
