With over 300 thousand users, 20 million connections, and hundreds of couples formed, the dating app Denga Love announces its international expansion. Launched in Brazil in 2022 with a focus on the Black community, the platform was officially introduced in Cape Verde during the celebrations of the country’s 50 years of independence. Starting in August, the app will be available in six new markets: Guinea-Bissau, Angola, São Tomé and Príncipe, Mozambique, Portugal, Spain, and Senegal.
More than expanding its geographical presence, Denga Love reaffirms its purpose of promoting genuine and representative encounters among Black people. The platform aims to create a global affective network that values the identity, culture, and ancestry of Black people. ‘Our mission has always been to connect people authentically and safely, celebrating Black diversity. Now, we take this mission beyond Brazilian borders, building affective bridges across the diaspora,’ highlights Fillipe Dornelas, CEO of Denga Love.
The choice of countries for expansion is strategic: all have strong historical and cultural ties with Brazil and host significant Black populations, who often find little representation in traditional dating apps. ‘Denga Love comes to fill this gap, strengthening a global network of connections among Black people,’ emphasizes Fillipe.
With internationalization, the platform plans to launch new features that enhance user experience while respecting the particularities of each cultural context. ‘We want to be more than a dating app: we are a movement that unites stories, cultures, and affections of the Black community around the world,’ says Barbara Brito, COO of Denga Love.
Available for download on Google Play and Apple Store, Denga Love celebrates this strategic advancement as a milestone in valuing global Black identity, connecting love stories and representation beyond Brazil’s borders.
