The Central Bank announced that the Automatic Pix will be launched on June 16, 2025, promising to transform the subscription and recurring payments market in Brazil. The new system will allow automatic charges via Pix, eliminating barriers such as expired credit cards and forgotten bills, which could boost customer conversion and retention rates.
According to a Chargebee study, 45% of recurring businesses lose at least five hours per week to manual billing adjustments. Furthermore, about 35% of transactions fail, potentially reaching 70% in some cases. Another relevant indicator is that in the first quarter of 2024, Pix accounted for 46% of purchases made by merchants on the Nuvemshop platform, surpassing credit cards, which accounted for 44% of paid orders. These figures reinforce the trend of adopting Pix as the main payment method in e-commerce and the recurring market.
