After São Paulo, 99Food plans expansion to 100 cities in the coming months

99Food plans to expand its operations to at least 100 cities in the coming months. The platform, which already operates in Goiânia and will debut in São Paulo in August, offers restaurants exemption from commissions and fees for 24 months, more affordable prices for consumers, and minimum earnings of R$250 for partner delivery drivers who complete 20 trips (including 5 food deliveries).

“We are excited about our arrival in São Paulo in early August. We will bring the same model already operating in Goiânia to offer more affordable food to São Paulo consumers and fairer earning opportunities for restaurants and delivery drivers,” says Simeng Wang, general director of 99 in Brazil.

The expansion of the new delivery model, planned by 99Food until mid-next year, aims to bring better conditions to the delivery ecosystem across the country. In current market practices, for a R$100 order, R$26.20 is paid with a 12% commission + 11% delivery fee + 3.2% payment transaction fee. Thus, for a R$100 order, the merchant keeps R$73.80.

At 99Food, the situation is different. Since the merchant will not pay commissions or fees, the cost for a R$100 order is R$7.70, consisting of a 4.5% delivery fee + 3.2% payment transaction fee. As a result, for a R$100 order, the merchant keeps R$92.30 and has the possibility to reduce the price of the food they sell.

PARTNERSHIP

Earlier this month, 99 partnered with the Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants (Abrasel), reinforcing its commitment to the development of the delivery sector to build a fairer, more competitive, and balanced business environment.

“We joined Abrasel with the goal of facilitating entrepreneurship in the food sector, promoting a more balanced environment with sustainable practices in the long term,” explains Wang.

Through the partnership with Abrasel, 99Food will develop initiatives aimed at strengthening the ecosystem with training programs for entrepreneurs and sector employees, production of market studies and research, as well as initiatives that promote more competitiveness, transparency, and sustainability for bars, restaurants, and delivery drivers across the country.
