59% of consumers prefer to buy bus tickets online due to security, Clickbus research points out

With the increase in online shopping, concerns about security in digital transactions also arise, which makes many consumers wary of making purchases over the internet. According to the Brand Health survey commissioned by ClickBus with Kantar, during the 2024/2025 high travel season, for 59% of the company’s new customers,  the security provided for purchases is the main reason for issuing tickets, in addition to the easy usability of the app and website. Recognized as “the reference brand for online bus ticket purchases”, ClickBus also gathered data that highlighted comfort, promotions, and a variety of reliable bus operators as differentiators.

With a significant increase in demand for bus tickets, the industry landscape is becoming increasingly competitive,  and with that, it’s necessary to consider possibilities for improving the user’s purchasing experience.   Therefore, ClickBus, aiming to maintain its Top of Mind position—with nearly 40% brand recall among consumers—has just introduced Google Pay and Apple Pay as the newest payment methods on its app and website, which already included Pix, Mercado Pago, PayPal, bank transfers, or credit cards (with the option to split into up to 12 installments). 

The new feature aims to provide even more security to the consumer at the time of purchase, as these methods offer a payment experience with biometric authentication, ensuring only the authorized user can complete the transaction, as well as tokenization, replacing card data with a unique, temporary code for each purchase, preventing the sharing of sensitive information with third parties. These processes minimize the risk of fraud  and provide an extra layer of protection.
