Sometimes, energy waste happens without anyone noticing. A slightly open cold room door, an air conditioner that keeps running even when everyone has already left work, a light on where it shouldn’t be, or a simple wrong setpoint on a controller. It may seem small, but when it comes to supermarkets and large retailers, these ‘little mistakes’ turn into millions of lost reais every year. Besides the cost of energy, these habits reduce the useful life of equipment, which end up working more than they should — meaning more maintenance, more replacements, and more losses.
In this context, NEO Estech, a data intelligence platform applied to equipment management and monitoring, announces the launch of NEO Lume, its own artificial intelligence for data analysis and technical support, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In practice, the technology performs automated monitoring of refrigeration, air conditioning, energy and water consumption, power generator, and fire protection systems, acting predictively and proactively.
Among other actions, AI will be able to interpret data from monitored sensors, facilitating decision-making. While NEO Estech automatically monitors equipment and opens tickets in case of anomalies, NEO Lume allows the user to interact directly with this information through natural language. It will be possible, for example, to ask: “Which equipment has had open tickets for more than three days?”, “Which equipment spends more time with the door open?”, report bugs or even request changes in system scales and configurations during the conversation. The AI understands the context, identifies the originating installation, and makes data interpretation much more accessible and practical.
According to the CEO of NEO Estech, Sami Diba, the technology is a direct result of over five years of operation and data acquisition, also collected with proprietary technology. The company already operates in large networks such as Carrefour, Atacadão, Savegnago, Tauste, and Confiança. This history allowed the development of a model trained based on real cases, technical documents, manuals, and thousands of accumulated human interactions over time.
“We know that retail operates in detail—and, often, it is precisely these details that go unnoticed. It was based on them that we created Lume. It understands the context, learns from day to day, and returns practical intelligence to the customer. It anticipates problems, avoids waste, and contributes directly to the financial health of the business. Creating Lume was a strategic decision: not only for the gain in efficiency but because scaling quality technical support, with this scope, would be impossible with only people,” says Sami Diba, CEO of NEO Estech.
The AI can handle five languages — Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, and Italian — just like the company’s other solutions. According to the CEO, the goal is to assist in the startup’s internationalization strategy, which is already present in six countries.
