Primeiro e-commerce de locação de equipamentos do Brasil marca avanço na digitalização do setor

A Loxam Brasil lançou o primeiro and e-commerce destinado à locação de máquinas e equipamentos no país, movimento que acompanha a tendência de digitalização da cadeia da construção civil e de infraestrutura. This initiative marks an advancement for the sector, historically reliant on in-person or telephone negotiations, which now gains a fully online alternative for equipment contracting.

Digitalization has been identified by experts as a pathway to increase efficiency, reduce timelines, and broaden access for small construction firms and independent professionals. With operations in 9 states and 25 branches, Loxam has implemented a system that allows users to search, compare machine categories, check availability, and complete the rental process online. The company states that the rental process, which previously depended on manual steps, is now automated, featuring digital confirmation and scheduled delivery.

“We are the first machinery rental company in Brazil that effectively closes deals online. The rental can be completed in a few steps, and the customer receives the equipment wherever they prefer—at the construction site, company, or home. This reduces lead times and increases autonomy for those who need agility,” states Guilherme Boog, Director of Loxam Brasil.

The digitalization also aims to address changes in consumer behavior within the sector. Construction companies and professionals have been demanding greater price transparency, delivery predictability, and less bureaucratic processes. 

The project is part of an investment package by Loxam in Brazil, aligned with the global strategy of the group, which operates in over 30 countries. The expectation is that the online channel will contribute to accelerating service delivery and expanding operational capacity, especially in regions with a smaller physical presence.

The company estimates that the e-commerce platform may boost rental volumes in the coming years, following the trend of service migration to the digital environment observed in mature markets in Europe and the United States, where similar models have been operating for over a decade.
