Moki, a company specializing in SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions with 17 years of experience in the B2B market, has just launched Moki Smart Scan. The platform uses artificial intelligence and augmented reality technology, integrated into the Moki app, to improve operational efficiency and the reading of barcodes and QR codes by up to 70%. Major market players such as Grupo Boticário, GPA, Grupo Santa Cruz, Dengo Chocolate, and Jadlog have already had access to the new technology.
The platform can be applied to various sectors, such as food, pharmaceutical, logistics, retail, among others. Moki Smart Scan ensures speed and accuracy in merchandise and product checking, thereby reducing errors, decreasing the need for dedicated staff, and operational costs. In a supermarket, for example, Moki Smart Scan can help in price verification, inventory, shelf restocking, expiry date, and even in the audit of fire extinguishers. A novelty that also impacts the end consumer, as it eliminates price discrepancies between products on the shelf and at the checkout.
Guilherme Werneck, CEO of Moki, explains this platform functionality: “Today, the employee uses a barcode scanner and scans each item separately, which is then manually checked against a printed table. With Moki Smart Scan, simply scan the products on the shelf with your phone’s camera, and the app compares them to the checkout price in real-time. Marking correct items in green and highlighting discrepancies in red.
This new technology has the potential to revolutionize various sectors in the coming years. Werneck explains that processes currently done manually will be automated, such as counting boxes in stock or tracking an order, for example.
For logistics companies, the platform means the end of manual counting and a drastic reduction in the number of losses and cargo mishandling. This is because Moki Smart Scan can read the codes of all items placed on the same pallet in a matter of minutes and identify if those products are going to the correct destination, as well as point out if any items are missing.
These functionalities save time and money for companies, in addition to reducing investment in equipment and employee training. “By replacing traditional hardware that scans barcodes with Moki’s Smart Scan software, there is already operational and cost optimization. Maintenance is much simpler because the Moki app can be used on any smartphone. Our platform is easy to use and does not require complex training. As people are already familiar with cell phones, it is easier to use the new technology, especially in a country with workforce training issues like Brazil,” explains Werneck. “The use of artificial intelligence and augmented reality makes the interface much more intuitive, user-friendly, easy to interact with, and provides a better user experience.”
