Hoteis.com releases ranking of lodging rates by destinations

The Hoteis.com launched the new edition of the Hotel Price Index, an annual report that analyzes the main price trends of accommodations around the world, such as: the cities with the most luxurious five-star stays and those that offer the best value for money. According to the survey, Paris leads the global ranking as the city with the highest average daily rate in five-star hotels: US$730. Following are Milan (US$695), Miami Beach (US$684), and Orlando (US$669). In Brazil, the surprise came from Manaus, which surpassed Rio de Janeiro and took the top spot on the national list, with daily rates reaching up to US$577 for five-star accommodations.

“For travelers who are increasingly price-conscious, the Hotel Price Index offers a unique lens on information about the best way to capitalize on money. It’s like a travel tips page that reveals where to spend, where to save, and where luxury costs slightly less,” says Melanie Fish, Global Vice President of Public Relations and travel expert at Hoteis.com.

“Cities like Bangkok, São Paulo, and Mexico City stand out for offering hotels with a good position in the ranking, in any star category, proving that traveling well doesn’t have to mean a high rate. For those looking to make their travel budget go even further, the Hoteis.com VIP Access program adds more value to the experience, providing benefits such as upgrades and spa credits,” she adds.

Price Variation: 2023 x 2024

The Hotel Price Index also compared the variation in average accommodation prices between 2023 and 2024. Belém leads the ranking with a 20% increase in daily rates. Following are São Luís (9%) and Florianópolis (8%) and, with more modest increases, João Pessoa and Maceió (both at 7%). On the other hand, traditionally expensive destinations surprised with price decreases. Gramado saw the largest reduction, with a 12% drop in tariffs, followed by Natal, with a 7% decrease.
