Sebrae and Shopee launch platform to support the digitalization of small businesses

Sebrae and Shopee announce a new free training platform designed to help small entrepreneurs thrive in the digital market. The initiative is part of the partnership established at the end of 2024 between the two organizations and aims to strengthen Brazilian entrepreneurship through best practices for creating and scaling e-commerce businesses.

With content developed by experts from Sebrae and Shopee, the distance learning platform offers a comprehensive course divided into five modules covering topics from basic knowledge about online sales to more advanced strategies, including pricing and supplier negotiations. Participants, with no prior knowledge about marketplaces required, will learn how to create and increase their e-commerce sales. “We will train small businesses for a faster and more efficient entry into the world of online sales, also ensuring greater sustainability and competitiveness over time. Marketplaces are a great showcase for small businesses, which should leverage digital tools to explore new markets,” says Bruno Quick, Technical Director of Sebrae Nacional.

We are committed to supporting Brazilian entrepreneurship and believe that training is fundamental for our country’s development. This is one of Shopee’s top priorities,” says Luciana Hachmann, Head of Government Relations at Shopee.

In addition to free content, the platform offers additional benefits as entrepreneurs complete the learning paths, such as an exclusive WhatsApp community with support from partner consultants to answer questions and continue training. In the future, two more learning paths will be launched, focusing on business professionalization, performance data analysis, marketing strategies, and customer service best practices.

Shopee’s Impact in Brazil

With over 3 million registered Brazilian sellers, responsible for more than 90% of sales on the platform in the country, Shopee has been a gateway for the digitalization and growth of local businesses. According to Shopee research, 1 in 3 sellers found their first online sales opportunity on the platform, and 40% expanded their operations after joining the app. Shopee’s educational initiatives have already trained over 500,000 Brazilian entrepreneurs.
