E-commerce projects revenue of nearly R$ 235 billion in 2025, according to ABComm

The growth of e-commerce in 2024, according to a report by the Brazilian Association of Electronic Commerce (ABComm), was approximately 10.5% compared to the previous year. Revenue reached R$ 204.3 billion, a significant increase driven by the continuous expansion of online commerce in Brazil. The sector recorded 414.9 million orders, with an average ticket of R$ 492.40. Meanwhile, the number of online buyers reached 91.3 million.

Women maintained their leadership in purchases and represented the majority of consumers in 2024. The Southeast region solidified its position as the most active in digital transactions, with the state of São Paulo leading in sales volume. The C-class stood out as the economic segment that made the most online purchases, reflecting the growing access to technology and financial inclusion.

Expectations for 2025

With the strengthening of e-commerce and consumers’ growing confidence in the online environment, ABComm projects revenue of R$ 234.9 billion for 2025. The average ticket is expected to reach R$ 539.28, while the volume of orders could reach 435.6 million, driven by 94.05 million buyers. According to the association, the launch of Drex, the digital real developed by the Central Bank of Brazil, and the expansion of digital payment options will contribute to even more robust growth.

“Digital transformation is irreversible. E-commerce continues to evolve with innovation, new technologies, and an increasingly personalized shopping experience. The sector’s consistent growth strengthens retail as a whole and expands opportunities for small and large businesses,” comments Mauricio Salvador, president of ABComm.
