Havan warns about a new scam created with Artificial Intelligence on social media

Havan issues a warning to the population about a new scam circulating on social media that has already generated hundreds of reports in the first few days of June. Criminals are using the image of businessman Luciano Hang and the 39 years of the retailer to commit fraud.

The scam offers a purported promotion of security cameras, in the “buy one, get one free” model. To make the fraud more convincing, the scammers use Artificial Intelligence to clone Luciano Hang’s voice and create fake videos.

However, there are clear signs that this is a scam. One of them is that the word Havan is mispronounced as “Ravan” in the audio. Furthermore, the voice does not match that of the businessman, and the mouth movements in the videos do not sync with the spoken words.

“As the saying goes: when the alms are too much, even the saint suspects. Always be suspicious of fantastic promotions. Make sure this information is genuinely from our official channels. Pay attention to the details. Nobody is immune to these scams,” warns Luciano Hang.

The businessman emphasizes that, unfortunately, this type of crime has become increasingly sophisticated with the use of Artificial Intelligence. ‘We have taken all necessary legal measures and have already obtained judicial decisions against platforms like Google and Meta for the removal of fake content. Nevertheless, the scams continue to appear, demanding constant attention from the population,’ he reinforces.
