The largest meeting in Latin America on Zabbix and data monitoring brought together developers, technology leaders, and professionals from different sectors in São Paulo on June 6 and 7 to discuss the future of monitoring in various sectors and critical environments. The program included strategic lectures on the tool’s roadmap, discussions led by clients and partners on the impact of open source on business, technical labs, and business panels.
The Latin American community has been consistently involved in the evolution of Zabbix and the adoption of the open-source model as a viable path for complex infrastructure challenges. With participants from Colombia, Uruguay, Mexico, and Brazil, the conference highlighted the region’s strength, becoming one of the most relevant for the global community. The tool has been used by companies from different sectors, reinforcing its plural character and its ability to meet critical demands in various environments.
Solid business without licensing fees
Alexei Vladishev, founder and global CEO of Zabbix, reaffirmed the company’s position by stating that the software will remain free and open source, even after two decades of operation. The launch of the new 8.0 version is scheduled for 2026 and will bring advancements in observability, improvements in the interface and user experience, as well as the ability to handle streaming data using standards like OpenTelemetry and NetFlow.
According to Vladishev, the business model based on services, support, and training has proven to be solid. ‘It is proven that it is possible to be open source and maintain a business model. There are no plans to change the licenses; Zabbix will always be an open-source product. These 20 years show that it is possible to remain open-source and maintain a sustainable business model,’ states the global CEO.
Same tool in multiple sectors
Present in areas such as government, critical infrastructure, media, mining, health, and the pharmaceutical industry, Zabbix is establishing itself as a common solution for different operational realities. Companies with specific needs find in the open-source tool a scalable answer for real-time monitoring of complex environments.
During the event, experts presented real cases and emphasized the versatility of the platform. ‘Zabbix meets 80% of the data collection and analysis needs of any business, regardless of the sector,’ explains Luciano Alves, CEO of Zabbix Latam, highlighting that the goal is to ensure stability, control, and predictability in operations.
The CEO of Zabbix Latam presented the growth potential of MSPs (Managed Service Providers) and highlighted the importance of having specialized teams, reinforcing the role of certifications in delivering quality services. During the event, Alves also introduced the recently released report by the organization that emphasizes how to achieve better results with Zabbix. The advancements of Zabbix Cloud, a solution focused on managing shared environments, were also discussed, offering automatic updates, on-demand backups, and resource isolation per client, enhancing security, flexibility, and operational efficiency.
