Organized by Traciona!, sponsored by the City of Recife and supported by the Manguezal community, the Brazilian regional stage of the Startup World Cup 2025 Reef Pre-registration is open until July 20th. Companies from different sectors can apply to represent the country in the Grand Final, which will take place in Silicon Valley from October 15th to 17th. At this event, one startup will receive a $1 million investment, after evaluation by a jury of global investors.
The following segments are eligible for registration in the Recife stage: Biotech; Healthtech; Agtech; Cleantech and Energytech; Fintech; Smart Cities and Govtech; and Deeptech & other technologies. On July 25, eight applicants from the regional stage will be announced to participate in the in-person event in Recife, scheduled for August 8, during the MangueBit event. Of these, only one will be chosen to participate in the Global Final.
“Being among the 8 announced to make the pitch already opens doors with investors and clients, as it is a seal of approval evaluated by an international investor.” – Franklin Yamasake, founder of Traciona!
A Startup World Cup receives over 10,000 applications annually and highlights the most promising solutions from each region. This group of selected startups presents itself at the Grand Finale in Silicon Valley, which features prominent names from the global ecosystem, such as Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple; Marc Randolph, co-founder of Netflix; Shark Tank alumni Kevin O’Leary, Daymond John, Robert Herjavec, and Sundeep Jain, CPO of Uber, among others.
Previous editions in Brazil attracted, on average, more than 100 startups. The Brazilian startups that won in previous years received investment, demonstrated substantial growth, and stood out in their fields. They are: Truckpad; Biosolvit; Automni; Terramagna; Colibri; and Gen-t.
“The winner of the Brazilian stage, in addition to competing for $1 million in Silicon Valley, will participate in a conference attended by more than 1,500 people. It will be an opportunity for new insights, networking, and business.” – Franklin Yamasake
