Recognize, value, and inspire. These are the pillars of the Sebrae Woman of Business Award, which is open for applications until June 15th. The initiative, which since 2004 has honored entrepreneurial women across the country, aims to highlight stories of innovation, overcoming challenges, and positive impact on the economy and society.
Aimed exclusively at women leading small businesses, the Award recognizes stories of those who faced challenges, turned ideas into companies, and actively contribute to the development of their communities. Throughout its history, more than 100,000 women entrepreneurs have participated in the award, which has become one of Sebrae's most emblematic initiatives for strengthening female entrepreneurship.
Divided into five categories: Small Businesses, Rural Producer, Individual Microentrepreneur (MEI), Science and Technology, and International Business, the Award recognizes entrepreneurs of different profiles and sectors, from those just starting out to those already operating in markets outside Brazil.
"The Award is one of the most important initiatives by Sebrae focused on female entrepreneurship. It values real stories of women who faced challenges, innovated, and transformed their lives through business. Besides recognition, it inspires other entrepreneurs and strengthens the ecosystem with positive and powerful references," explains Susana Ströher, State Manager of Sebrae Delas.
To participate, the business must be at least one year old and meet the criteria of each category. The winners gain not only visibility but also support to continue growing and making an impact.
"When we talk about female entrepreneurship, we are not just talking about women, we are talking about businesses and consequently about social and economic development. And the Award brings visibility and recognition to these inspiring stories of women being contacted and paves the way for others," explains Ströher.
