On the night of this Wednesday, September 18, during the PL Connection, event that takes place simultaneously with the Latam Retail Show, the winners of the 1st edition of the Private Label Excellence Award have been revealed, celebrating the main highlights of the sector. The event brought together the biggest names in retail and the private label industry, recognizing the products that stood out for their innovation, design, sustainability and public preference
The award, idealized by Amicci and Francal, visa to recognize retailers, industries and service companies that played a fundamental role in the development of exclusive products during the year 2023 and the first half of 2024. The initiative arises at a strategic moment for the sector, since, according to data from Nielsen, the participation of theprivate labelsin the Brazilian market represented only 2% in the first quarter of 2023, while the global average is 23%. This contrast points to a huge growth potential for Brazil, putting private labels in the spotlight
For Antônio Sá, co-founder of Amicci, Private labels are gaining strength because they have proven to be an excellent marketing option, because they offer freedom for you to own your own strategy. This award is important to recognize and sustain the growth of the sector
The evaluation methodology of the award took into account aspects such as strategy, concept, execution, results and the integration of the registered products in the market. The judging committee is composed of highly relevant professionals in the sector, including representatives from national retail councils, industries and retail networks that are not competing in the award
The winners
The award covered five categories: Most beloved private label, Best packaging design, Best case of innovation, Best sustainability case and emerging private label. Each category had three winners, chosen by a panel of specialized judges. The winners of each category received an exclusive trophy and the Seal of Excellence, that can be used for a year to highlight recognition in the market
