The Brazilian Institute of Legal Sciences (IBCJ), in partnership with the Center for Economic and Social Law Studies (Cedes), will hold the Congress "Advocacy and Justice in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" this Saturday (20) at 9 a.m. The event, which will feature renowned specialists, will take place at the Gazeta Theater in São Paulo and will have free admission.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools are already impacting the legal universe, and the meeting will discuss their application possibilities and the precautions they inspire. For Thomas Law, president of IBCJ and vice-president of Cedes, the Congress will provide his fellow jurists with a clearer view of how AI is being used and its potential.
"With this event, we aim to assist in the improvement of our colleagues in the legal profession regarding Artificial Intelligence. It is imperative that this topic is disseminated, whether to help them in daily management, task automation, data and jurisprudence analysis, reaching new clients, etc., or to discuss the ethical and regulatory challenges we currently face. We need to unite the profession so that it progresses with technological transformations," he emphasizes.
Among the topics under discussion, the panels will address the integration of AI into the Judiciary. The first panel will discuss the digitization of the Superior Labor Court, with the participation of ministers Guilherme Augusto Barros and Sérgio Pinto Martins. The third panel will address the application of AI in the National Justice Council and in the São Paulo Districts, with the presence of CNJ member Guilherme Guimarães Feliciano, Judge Eduardo Azuma Nishi, and Judge of the 1st Civil Court of Caieiras, Rui César Publio Borges Correa.
In addition to the five panels with broad themes for legal professionals, there will be a raffle for full and discounted scholarships for postgraduate courses at Legale Educacional, the event's supporter. For those interested, registrations are limited and can be made at thislink.
