Exploring “new oil”, startup creates courses to improve data culture within companies

According to Harvard Business Review, data-driven companies are 2.6 times more likely to surpass goals and have three times higher chances of achieving better efficiency rates. It's no coincidence that they have become the "new oil," requiring companies to have the skill to interpret and handle information accurately. In order to contribute to this process, theRox School, training division ofRox Partner, a consulting firm specializing in data and cybersecurity, recorded a 447% growth in direct sales of training courses in 2024, along with a 34% increase in indirect sales.

The justification for this advance lies in the transition of training application models, which began to be offered on a digital platform. The scalable model replaced the synchronous format of live sessions, allowing companies to access training asynchronously at their convenience. Among the training courses available on the platform are courses in Analytics and Cloud Computing.

To maintain the accelerated pace until the end of the year, the company plans to launch new training programs, as well as establish strategic partnerships to expand its presence in the market, especially in the B2C model. According to Mathias Brem, co-founder and CDO of Rox Partner, the main goal of the brand's educational core is to promote a true data culture, where all levels and sectors can utilize information to optimize workflow.

"Data skills are no longer a concern limited to IT professionals, but to all areas of companies. Organizations that promote a data-driven culture improve their operational efficiency and tend to make more assertive strategic decisions based on concrete data," details the executive.

Personalization and active learning

Founded in 2022, Rox School has been dedicated to transforming the way companies organize and manage their data. For this, the training programs, ranging from Data Literacy to advanced cybersecurity implementation, are designed based on an active learning methodology. This approach stands out by engaging participants in technical activities from the beginning of the process, rather than just presenting theories.

Thus, the courses consist of completing practical tasks and solving challenges based on real-world problems, facilitating knowledge retention and immediate application in the work environment. "This practical approach, in addition to the theoretical content, contrasts with more traditional approaches, which are often passive and focused only on information transfer," explains the executive.

Another strategic advantage lies in the customization of teaching for different fields of work. For example, for the healthcare sector, the school offers courses focused on analyzing clinical data volumes and regulatory compliance. For manufacturing professionals, the teaching focus is directed towards predictive analysis for equipment maintenance and supply chain optimization. "These adaptations ensure that the learnings are relevant and directly applicable to the reality of each area," adds Brem.

Rox School also offers ongoing post-training support, helping partners implement the acquired knowledge and overcome initial barriers. Furthermore, the brand conducts periodic assessments with companies to monitor indicators and adjust programs. "The success of adopting a data culture can be measured through indicators such as increased use of analytical tools, the frequency of data-driven decisions, and the number of projects conducted with a data-driven approach," concludes the Rox Partner CDO.
