Curitiba will host an unprecedented celebration of digital communication in the country: the Brazil Publisher Awards (BPA), a national award dedicated to recognizing the best websites, publishers, and digital portals in the country, will take place on December 2nd at the Hard Rock Cafe Curitiba.
The event will bring together leading names and innovative initiatives in the sector. Promoted by the National Association of Publishers of Brazil (ANPB) and co-organized by the ad tech company PremiumAds, BPA seeks to highlight the relevance and transformative impact that websites, especially regional ones, have on communication and Brazilian society.
Recognition of impact and quality
The Brazil Publisher Awards received over 100 entries from across the country, a significant milestone for an award in its first edition. Publishers and portals from 23 states applied, highlighting the diversity and strength of the digital market in Brazil, as well as emphasizing the broad reach and importance of this initiative at the national level.
“The finalists stand out for promoting education, engagement, and social transformation, contributing directly to their communities,” comments Marcelo Petrelli, president of the National Association of Publishers of Brazil (ANPB).
The participants were evaluated using criteria that go far beyond quantitative metrics, such as pageviews and followers. The analysis by the approximately 30 judges focused on the quality of the content, the positive impact generated, the contribution to the population, and the sustainability of the practices adopted.
“The award will not only celebrate the best in the market, but will also contribute to strengthening the sector, highlighting the importance of a plural and diverse media throughout the country,” emphasizes Riadis Dornelles, vice-president of ANPB.
The finalists competed in eleven categories, covering different niches. Each participant presented a defense piece that highlighted their performance and relevance, going beyond specific cases to focus on innovative projects or broad defenses, with up to three finalists each.
The category, which recognizes websites that stand out for offering relevant and reliable information to their local communities, received entries from 17 Brazilian states, with more than 45 websites among them.
