With the retail sector showing significant growth in the first semester of 2024, the expectations for September are positive. Customer Day, celebrated on September 15, emerges as an excellent opportunity for companies to boost their sales and strengthen their relationship with their consumers.
According to recent data from IBGE, the Brazilian retail sector recorded a growth of 2.5% between January and June 2024, compared to the last quarter of 2023. This is the highest percentage increase since the second quarter of 2022, when sales grew by 2.8%.
With the only September holiday, Independence Day, falling on a Saturday this year, traders are seeking alternatives to maintain the growth momentum. Customer Day presents itself as a strategic date for this purpose.
Fábio Oliveira, CEO of Sales Clube, highlights the importance of the date: “It is an opportunity for brands to connect with their customers in a deeper way, beyond just negotiation. Strategies like up-selling, exclusive offers, personalized experiences, and digital marketing are essential. The focus should always be on customer loyalty, aiming for a long-term relationship.”
Although Customer Day is not yet celebrated throughout Brazil, it has been recognized by 14 states and 167 municipalities. The date, which occurs exactly six months after Consumer Day (March 15), was created to boost commerce and strengthen the relationship between companies and customers.
Experts recommend that companies take advantage of this date to implement promotional actions, offer personalized experiences, and reinforce communication with their customers. Furthermore, it is an opportunity to collect valuable feedback and demonstrate appreciation for consumer loyalty.
With the growing recognition of the importance of the customer in business success, it is expected that Customer Day will gain increasing relevance in the Brazilian commercial calendar, offering companies an annual chance to strengthen their ties with consumers and boost sales in a traditionally slower period for retail.
