The Brazilian commerce registered a growth of 13.53% in revenue between June 5 and 12, compared to the same period last year. The data, covering both physical and digital sales nationwide, reveal a positive economic dynamic marked by an increase in revenue, despite a slight decline of 0.68% in the total volume of transactions.
The growth was driven by the wholesale sector, which showed a significant increase of 23.89% in revenue, with emphasis on durable goods, food wholesale, and online sales. On the other hand, retail grew more modestly, with a 4.13% increase in revenue.
Sectors in Spotlight
Considering both physical and online environments, the sector of perfumes, cosmetics, and beauty products — in both retail and wholesale — recorded a growth of 3.71%, highlighting its appeal during the celebratory date. The clothing segment showed an even more significant performance, with a 34% increase, while department stores grew by 29.28%.
Physical x Digital Channels
While the physical channels represent the majority of transaction volume, digital channels have stood out with a higher growth of 16.22%. Online sales highlight the preference for e-commerce purchases.
