With the migration of import operations to the Single Foreign Trade Portal, companies are investing in new technologies

To simplify and increase efficiency in foreign trade processes, reducing time, bureaucracy, and costs in import operations, the government and the Federal Revenue Service announced the replacement of the old Siscomex LI/DI with the Single Portal for Foreign Trade. The first stage of migration begins on October 1st through the Single Import Declaration (Duimp), which must already be done in the new system. In view of this initiative, companies like Asia Shipping, the largest logistics integrator in Latin America, are already investing in technologies that integrate with the new government platform.

To ensure the agility demanded by these operations, especially in this new scenario of increasing digitization, the company recently acquired the startup Dati, offering a cloud-based platform with artificial intelligence (AI). The solution automates the entire import routine and autonomously performs almost 87% of the routines in this business area, from order tracking to cargo delivery, providing importers and exporters visibility of their operation on a single screen.

According to Rafael Dantas, commercial director of Asia Shipping, systems like the old Siscomex, which has been in effect since 1993, have undergone few updates in recent years, prompting the search for parallel platforms that could optimize routines and workflows.

“We are noticing a greater interest from customers in this solution we adopted, even more with the beginning of this migration that starts now in October. With this new version and change to Duimp, there will be a completely different format, where information will be forwarded in advance to the IRS. And in this sense, through integration with our Dati platform, we will have an even more automated and user-friendly journey, with advanced data intelligence capable of providing valuable insights during foreign trade operations,” explains the executive.

In addition to automating import routines and flexibility in integrating with other systems, such as the new Single Foreign Trade Portal, the Dati platform allows real-time process monitoring and provides customizable reports, tailored to the needs of each business that assist in strategic decision-making.

“With the new federal platform combined with solutions like Dati, integrations and validations will be much faster, as well as having a single channel for standardizing import and export processes. An initiative that will help minimize possible product interpretation errors and unnecessary fines. Without a doubt, it is a path aligned with global trends in terms of flow of goods, capable of making Brazil more competitive and attractive to attract new foreign investments,” concludes Rafael Dantas.
