With the advancement of technology, protection against data leaks and sensitive information has become a top priority for companies. In a constantly changing digital world, lack of knowledge, unpreparedness, absence of adequate security infrastructures, and resistance to change can result in cyber-attacks compromising operations and reputation.
Albano Momberg, professor of the Computer Science course at Centro Universitário Nossa Senhora do Patrocínio (CEUNSP), emphasizes the need for companies to be proactive and invest in technologies capable of detecting and responding to threats in real-time. “Companies need to have a robust information security policy, including data encryption, multifactor authentication, conducting regular audits, and additionally, investing in Artificial Intelligence and machine learning,” Momberg states.
The human factor is also crucial. Momberg stresses that investing in constant training of employees in good security practices helps reduce vulnerabilities. Education and awareness of secure practices are essential to strengthen defense against cyber threats.
For smaller companies that may not have resources to invest in robust security systems, there are low-cost alternatives such as firewalls, antivirus, and automatic backup tools. Outsourcing cybersecurity services to specialists can also be a viable solution.
“It is important for decision-makers and those responsible for the digital security of companies to stay updated with the latest trends and practices in cybersecurity. Participating in specialized conferences and forums is crucial to innovate in data protection,” Momberg concludes.
Although digital security technology continues to evolve, challenges grow as cybercriminals refine their techniques. Therefore, adaptability and continuous innovation are essential to ensure corporate security.
