BS2 acquires Voucherpay and bets on the international Pix expansion

O BS2, financial ecosystem focused on corporate clients, announces the acquisition ofVoucherpay, a platform that enables Brazilians to make purchases abroad using Pix or credit card with installment payments in reais. The expectation is that the solution will generate aboutR$ 100 million in transactions per year.

Created in 2019 by Brapago, a fintech in the payment sector, in partnership with BS2, Voucherpay meets a growing demand from Brazilian consumers who travel abroad or live near international borders, especially in the Ciudad del Este region, Paraguay. With the acquisition, BS2 now owns the technology, operation, and the brand — the latter already registered previously by the bank.

The platform integrates with BS2’s Pix APIs and acquiring systems, allowing Brazilian consumers to make payments as if they were in Brazil, even when receiving the product outside the country. “We are enabling a seamless and nationalized shopping experience, even in foreign points of sale,” saysCarlos Eduardo de Andrade, BS2’s Executive Director of Foreign Exchange.

This is not the first time that BS2 has innovated in cross-border operations. In 2023, the bank was a pioneer and launched the Easy Pay solution, a cross-selling offer ofcurrency and cash management that enables 24×7 international transactions. “Today, we dominate this end-to-end journey and having Voucherpay in-house provides even more strength to our operation,” says the executive.

The management of Voucherpay will be carried out by a multidisciplinary unit within the bank, involving areas such as foreign exchange, acquiring, and technology. According to Andrade, the acquisition represents a strategic bet on the advancement of international Pix and the expansion of financial products linked to foreign exchange, acquiring, and receivables anticipation. Furthermore, the incorporation of the acquiring company into the BS2 group’s operation facilitated the consolidation of the operation.

Currently present in Paraguay and Europe, BS2 aims to expand the geographical reach of Voucherpay. The goal is to reach a monthly volume of R$ 20 million in transactions by 2026. To achieve this, the bank plans to intensify the registration of international merchants and strengthen the product distribution in the market.
