Organized by Traciona!, with the sponsorship of the City of Recife and the support of the Manguezal community, the Brazilian regional stage of the Startup World Cup 2025 Recife is currently open for pre-registration until July 20. Companies from different fields of activity can apply to represent the country in the Grand Final taking place in Silicon Valley from October 15 to 17. At this event, one startup will be awarded a $1 million investment after evaluation by a panel of global investors.
The possible segments eligible for registration in the Recife stage are: Biotechs; Healthtechs; Agtechs; Cleantechs and Energytechs; Fintechs; Smart Cities and Govtech; and Deeptechs & other technologies. On July 25, 8 participants from the regional phase will be announced to participate in the in-person event in Recife, scheduled for August 8, during the MangueBit event. From these, only one will be chosen to participate in the Global final.
“Being among the 8 announced to pitch already opens doors with investors and clients, as it is an endorsement evaluated by an international investor.” – Franklin Yamasake, founder of Traciona.
The Startup World Cup features over 10,000 registrations annually and showcases the most promising solutions from each region. This selected group of startups is presented at the Grand Final in Silicon Valley, which includes prominent figures from the global ecosystem such as Steve Wozniak, Apple co-founder; Marc Randolph, Netflix co-founder; Shark Tanks Kevin O’Leary, Daymond John, Robert Herjavec, Sundeep Jain, Uber’s CPO, among others.
Previous editions in Brazil have gathered, on average, over 100 registered startups. Brazilian startups that have won in previous years have received investments, shown substantial growth and stood out in their areas of operation. They are: Truckpad; Biosolvit; Automni; Terramagna; Colibri; and Gen-t.
“The winner of the Brazilian stage, in addition to competing for 1 million dollars in Silicon Valley, will engage with over 1500 attendees at a conference. It will be an opportunity for new insights, networking, and business.” – Franklin Yamasake
