A new era at Mundial Logistics: My first steps as CEO and the inauguration of the company's new CD and headquarters

Accepting Fernando Passos's invitation to assume the position of CEO at Mundial Logistics is a significant milestone that marks a new phase in both my career and the company's journey, representing the beginning of a period of growth and innovation. With the responsibility of leading this company that recently celebrated 25 years with a rich history and a promising future, I share with you the strategies and visions that will guide our next steps, with a special highlight on the upcoming inauguration of our new Distribution Center and Mundial's own headquarters. This expansion project will include the implementation of artificial intelligence and automation of the new distribution center's operations. It is an enterprise that, by itself, says a lot about our new market positioning.

The transition from command to a CEO and the establishment of a Board of Directors are decisions that reflect the evolution of our corporate governance. Fernando Passos, founder of Mundial, assumes the position of chairman of the board of directors. Fernando's experience and legacy are priceless, and it is with great honor and immense respect that I will continue his work, with the mission of taking Mundial Logistics to new transformative achievements.

We will show the industries we serve that, more than logistics operators, we can act as true business agents for them, offering intelligent solutions for our clients' value chain. After all, our purpose is very clear, which is to “Make Brands Sell More”.

The new Distribution Center and new headquarters of Mundial Logistics: A milestone in the sector

Certainly, one of the first major moments of my administration will be the inauguration of the new Distribution Center and the company's own headquarters, a project in which we invested 30 million reais solely in infrastructure, and which represents a significant advance in our operational and technological capacity. Strategically located near Guarulhos Airport, less than 2 km from the Presidente Dutra and Ayrton Senna highways, the distribution center has 40,000 m² for storage and is part of a 147,000 m² logistics complex of which the group is a partner. With this expansion, we will increase our capacity to 80,000 pallet positions in Guarulhos alone. This space was designed to meet the demands of the health and trade marketing sectors, offering modern and efficient solutions for our clients.

With 45,000 pallet positions and the incorporation of advanced technologies such as state-of-the-art control towers and automation and artificial intelligence (AI) systems, the new distribution center not only improves our operational efficiency but also ensures the delivery of services of the highest quality. This investment expands our operational capacity and positions us at the forefront of logistics solutions for sectors regulated by health authorities, including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food, and beverages.

The simultaneous inauguration of the new headquarters and the new distribution center is just the beginning of a promising journey to challenge the status quo of Brazilian logistics and help our clients sell more. It is important to highlight that, not by chance, the architectural design of the new headquarters is inspired by the world of technology startups and not by traditional logistics. My vision for Mundial is to achieve "Customer Delight" through three main pillars

  1. Valuing our people

Qualified people, with a collaborative spirit and a sense of common purpose, ensure team cohesion, which is essential for the internal efficiency of processes.

Many companies claim that people are their most important asset, but in practice, they do not ensure the psychological safety climate necessary for innovation and high performance. They keep repeating clichés. In my opinion, when it comes to logistics services, it's about having people who have a "passion for serving" and who are outraged by poor service, reacting to recover it and promptly correcting the problems that will inevitably occur.

  1. Excellence in operational processes:

Excellence has been a word repeated in PowerPoint presentations and little achieved in real life. We are aware of the great challenge of implementing it in the service industry, considering Brazil's level of social inequality and functional illiteracy. The key is to pay attention to the details in each of the main ingredients capable of bringing this word to life: people, processes, and technology.

  1. Technological transformation:

The market for Brazilian logistics operators is large and fragmented, according to ILOS/ABOL studies. We have enormous potential for the application of new technologies in offering intelligent services for the optimization and digitalization of the Supply Chain. Technologies such as conversational AIs, automation, robots, IoT, blockchain, for example, are still little used, and this scenario is likely to change rapidly from now on. My role will be to ensure that Mundial acts as an agent of this change in level.

By developing each pillar above within a solid ESG agenda, we will ensure the sustainability of the accelerated growth that lies ahead.
