C-Level: four requirements to be analyzed when changing jobs

Good C-Levels are able to leverage the operational level of companies at strategic levels for their performance and prominence. Their productivity will be directly related to the satisfaction of being in an environment that motivates, engages and challenges them to go beyond 'WHAT causes, in places where these characteristics are not offered, many decide to look for companies where they feel these issues.

When deciding to change jobs, certain points must be taken into account to ensure an effective transition. With this in mind, the basic requirements that need to sustain this change to increase the chances of success in this decision arise

#1 Professional self-reflection: every C-Level has a wide professional background built throughout its journey. Many of these experiences may have been really fruitful, but others not so much. All these passages need to be analyzed and taken as a reference point, in a self-reflection that questions which contexts were positive and that you want to value in future opportunities, as well as the negative ones that you do not want to find again.

#2 Life time: executive positions tend to demand medium to long-term deadlines and responsibilities, which should be considered based on the moment of life of this professional. If this talent has small children, as an example, you may have more difficulties in reconciling their tasks and being close to your family at this stage. Before looking outside, you need to direct this analysis internally in a personal context, in order to understand what kind of routine /career flexibility your moment of life allows.

#3 Company scenario: different agendas and corporate scenarios will require different efforts from a C-Level. It is important to make a thorough analysis of due diligence of the business, raising its financial health, corporate governance, culture and relationship of trust with the board of the company, possible crises through which it has passed, how it positioned itself in these occasions, and how resilient it is within scenarios of threats and opportunities. The corporate past can say a lot about its future, and having these conversations with those who are from within can weigh a lot in a move.

#4 Compensation and benefits package: this item matches the moment of life of this professional. This is because, if the remuneration is not so attractive in your vision and adherent to your goals in the short and long term, the options of benefit will be evaluated if they meet your needs IS because there are numerous alternatives that can be offered in order to add to this package, such as long-term incentives, bonuses for participation, among others.

Assuming the points addressed and, after all these reflections, the C-Levels should consider whether the proposal in question will lead them to achieve their expectations and professional ambitions, regardless of the moment they are.

In the end, this will always be an individual choice. Risks will always exist and will be present in this trajectory, but can be mitigated according to their integration into the environment with their colleagues, stakeholders and other partners, so that they can continue evolving until their next journey.
