Gender equity in the corporate environment is still a goal and we have a long way to go

The issue of gender inequalities in work environments is something we have debated as a society, especially between men and women, and there are other minorities as well. Today I want to put at the center of the discussion the role of self-knowledge and emotional intelligence, which is an intrinsic part of this ; because the fact is that the more the human being develops his self-perception, the more he will be able to consolidate equal opportunities for all without distinction of gender.

All prejudices separate us; it is like being with a mental visor with great social damage. It is like looking through the lock of a door and seeing only a piece of reality; restricted, being that we could see that whole environment. Prejudice is this; reducing people and their potentials to a gender perspective only; as if it made them better or worse of each other.

We know that the world is collaborative. men and women can and form a beautiful partnership, therefore, measuring the potential of someone in any area of life based on gender is a great fallacy. In reality we are different and complementary. The neurological constructions of women are different from those of men and this is very positive to unite, each according to their physiology, our potentialities. What definitely does not fit anymore is an old and outdated competition. Resistance is an old paradigm that can be overcome with self-knowledge.

What we carry prejudice today is outdated. Is that what we still “trawamos” of previous generations, for example, who determined that at 50 or 60 years the person was old, preparing for retirement. Does it feel like this? Often, the woman herself experiences these beliefs.Let's think that it is still something very new terms people with 50+ in the labor market, active, in our society & independent of gender. However, in a scenario of prejudices and old answers to new problems, this will not happen.

Innovate is the answer! We do not have it exactly yet, precisely because we need to find it and who does it, especially, is who is living the problem and starts to get more awareness of this need. There are those who are already in this movement 50+, women and each of us who awakens to this movement ; we all have the responsibility to build new possibilities to live this world of aggregation. Therefore, a more evolved world!
