Following the recent adjustment of the minimum delivery fee, iFood announces a new package of benefits for platform partner delivery drivers. Focused on financial predictability and improvement in work routine, the new package brings innovations in three main areas: fee-free payout anticipation, routes with destination choice, and a rewards program for high-performing drivers.
Starting in July, iFood delivery drivers will be able to anticipate their payouts without any fee. Currently, the values are paid weekly, but with the new functionality, it will be possible to request the anticipation directly through the application and receive it on the same day. This is an exclusive benefit in the sector, available to more frequent professionals in the application, ensuring more liquidity and financial control.
In the second area, iFood announces the planning of routes with destination choice. With the functionality, which will be tested starting in August, delivery drivers will be able to direct the region they would like to go to during deliveries, optimizing movements and facilitating journey organization, such as on the way back home.
“The destination route was a request from the drivers themselves, who brought this pain point to our listening channels. The suggestion was taken to the technology team and now the improvement will be implemented throughout Brazil by the end of the year. Since 2021, iFood has maintained continuous listening forums with the category. Another example of this is the rewards program, which originated in one of our Working Groups with drivers,” says Johnny Borges, Director of Social Impact at iFood.
Reward Program
In addition to fee exemption on advance payments and the new route planning feature, iFood launches Super Deliverymen – the first rewards program in the sector in Brazil. The initiative was created to recognize and reward deliverymen who are more engaged with the platform, valuing professionals who stand out in the operation. Among the main benefits are:
- Extra earnings: Deliverymen who reach the Gold or Diamond categories have access to exclusive promotions and missions, with estimated earnings up to 30% above the average base. In addition, they accumulate stamps that can be exchanged for credits at the Entregador Store, with an annual bonus of up to R$ 3,000 in cash.
- Exclusive advantages: discounts and free services on essential items, such as vehicle maintenance and cell phone plans.
- Experiences: participation in prize draws such as motorcycles, helmets, and tickets to shows and movies.
The debut of the Rewards Program is scheduled for July, starting in the city of São Paulo, with plans to expand to other regions soon.
“Deliverymen are a fundamental part of the iFood ecosystem. Valuing them is, above all, recognizing the essential role they play in the daily lives of millions of Brazilians. We are continually listening to and investing in solutions that generate more earnings, more comfort, and more predictability for those who choose iFood to maximize their earnings,” says Johnny.
How much does the iFood deliveryman earn
In March 2025, iFood registered the milestone of 400 thousand active delivery partners on the platform, which represented a 40% increase compared to 2024.
With over 120 million monthly orders and more than 400 thousand partner restaurants, delivery partners working with iFood earn an average of R$12 per route over the weekends. Additionally, no motorcycle delivery partner, at any time, day or location, earns less than R$7.50 per route, even for the shortest ones. There are also no commissions or fees charged for platform usage, and customer tips are fully passed on.
According to the iFood Data Portal, the average gross earnings per hour worked on the platform in 2024 were R$28. “Considering this amount, a professional delivering 3 hours per day on iFood earns a gross income of over R$2,500 per month. This is the most common profile among platform delivery partners – those who choose iFood to supplement their income. On the other hand, the average earnings of more engaged workers (with over 180 hours worked per month) is R$28.60 per hour on deliveries. A worker with this profile, and a 44-hour weekly schedule, has a gross monthly income of over R$5,000”, explains Johnny Borges.
With the launch of a new package of enhancements, iFood reinforces its leadership position in the sector by continuing to listen to and meet the demands of the category. The platform stands out as the app that generates the most orders for delivery drivers in Brazil and solidifies itself as the one that offers the best earnings in the category. This reach is the result of consistent action, focusing on technology, logistics, and user experience.
