Black Friday accelerates vehicle purchase decisions for majority of consumers, Webmotors research reveals

Black Friday has the potential to boost automotive sales in 2025 in Brazil. According to a survey conducted by Webmotors Autoinsights, a tool that provides data and information about the Brazilian automotive market, the date tends to directly influence the decision to buy vehicles for most consumers. 

The survey, conducted on October 22 and 24 with more than 4 thousand participants users of the platform, revealed that 38,27% of respondents consider Black Friday “very important” to anticipate or postpone the acquisition of a car or motorcycle. Another 16% classify the date as “important”, while 13,39% consider “unimportant” and 32,35% as “nada important”.

The study also identified which are the profiles of consumers who tend to consider the most relevant promotional period to postpone or anticipate the purchase of their vehicle. Among those who consider the date as “very important”, stand out young people from 18 to 24 years (54,10%), followed by singles (51,40%), women (50,90%) and men (42,10%). Already married (39,60%) and mature public, with 553 years or more (TP33T). 

On the other hand, among those who consider the date as “nada important” in the decision to anticipate or postpone the purchase of a vehicle, the highlight goes to the mature public, aged 55 years or more (34,80%), followed by married (30,80%), men (28,70%), singles (18,80%), young people aged 18 to 24 years (17,70%) and women (12,20%).

“Many consumers, especially those more connected and attentive to special opportunities, have organized their finances to take advantage of Black Friday to fulfill the desire to acquire a higher value good, also driven by the proximity of the 13th salary. This propensity, added to the promotional actions that the industry offers, has great potential to accelerate sales of the automotive sector in the” period”, states Natalia Spigai, CMO of Webmotors.
