There is still time: how can retailers ensure efficient online payments for Black Friday?

Scheduled for November 29, Black Friday 2024 promises a major trade move, with 66% of Brazilians planning to shop, according to one research from Wake in partnership with Opinion Box. The figures still show that e-commerce is the preferred channel of 58,2% of consumers, followed by marketplaces (47,8%) and applications (44,3%). In addition, according to data collected by Confi.Neotrust, the expectation is that the billing of the date of this year reaches R$ 9.3 billion, an increase of 9.1% compared to last year.

This data signals a significant opportunity for retailers, but especially for those still adapting to online commerce, the preparation time to meet this growing demand is already short.Leonardo Moreira Gomes, CEO of Paytime, a startup specializing in digital payments, explains that the ideal is for entrepreneurs to start preparing about six months in advance.“This ensures that transactions are agile, secure and reliable during peak sales”, he says.

However, the CEO points out that even for those who could not plan, there are fast and efficient exits.“There are platforms and systems that can put an online store in less than 24 hours, allowing quick adjustments and a functional operation in time for Black Friday”, he adds.

The biggest challenge for those entering last minute online commerce is to ensure that the sales platform supports the large volume of flawless accesses, as well as organizing inventory and deliveries. The overload in payment systems and the increased risk of fraud are also concerns that cannot be ignored.

“To deal with the increase in traffic and transactions, it is crucial to have integrated payment methods that offer high conversion rate and security in the” operations, explains Leonardo. The CEO reinforces that a fluid payment experience, without unnecessary redirects, reduces the cart abandonment rate and provides a more reliable purchase journey for the customer.

At the same time, security measures, such as robust anti-fraud systems and fast authentication, become fundamental to keep online operation stable.“Although these integrations and technical adjustments may seem complex, modern API solutions allow an agile implementation, making it feasible to adapt e-commerce to the demands of a Black Friday even with tight deadlines”, details. One more tip is to use solutions already tested and ready for integration, which makes it possible to organize the flow of online payments, ensuring a robust and secure operation.
