The Serasa Experian Trade Activity Indicator, first and largest datatech in Brazil, revealed that physical retail sales had a positive reaction in the week of Children's Day (05/10/2024 to 11/10/2024), and recorded growth of 0.3% in sales compared to the same period of 2023. “The last seasonal date was Father's Day, which indicated a drop of 1.8% in purchases from Brazilian physical retail. The growth of Children's Day indicates a slight recovery, reflecting an increase in consumer confidence and a positive response to seasonal promotions”, comments the economist of Serasa Experian, Luiz Rabi. Considering only the weekend of the commemorative date (04/10/2024 to 06/10/2024), there was a drop of 3.7% compared to 2023 (06/10/20203 to 2023.
Fall in sales of Children's Day in Sao Paulo
Also according to the Serasa Experian Trade Activity Indicator, physical retail sales in Sao Paulo fell. During the week (05 to 10 October 2024 x 05 to 10 October 2023) the drop was 0.1% and at the weekend (04 to 06 October 2024 x 06 to 08 October 2023), 3.3%
