The Brazilian Crypto-economics Association (ABcrypto) and the Securities Commission (CVM), today launch, 11/10/2024, the CounterCoup, an innovative tool aimed at protecting and educating investors.The goal is to help the public recognize potential fraud in investment offers through a series of simple and objective questions.
The CounterCoup acts as a first line of defense, assessing the risk of fraud and issuing a report with educational guidance on the main points of attention. “O ContraGolpe offers a valuable starting point for each user to investigate more deeply and seek guidance from certified professionals.It is important to remember that the tool does not guarantee investment security or replace more detailed research by the” investor'', says Bernardo Srur, CEO of ABcrypto.

The initiative was launched during World Investor Week 2024 (World Investor Week 2 WIW), an event promoted by IOSCO (International Organization of Securities Commissions). World Investor Week is coordinated by CVM within the scope of the IOSCO Retail Investor Committee (Committee 8 8 2 C8) and promoted in more than 100 member countries of the organization. WIW was launched in 2017 as a pilot project, after CVM proposal to develop a global campaign for investor protection and education.

The project is part of the cooperation agreement established between ABCripto and CVM, which aims to expand financial education in Brazil and develop educational campaigns on new financial technologies, such as blockchain, cryptoeconomics and decentralized finance (DeFi). The collaboration between the institutions also includes the development of studies and initiatives aimed at financial and regulatory innovation.
