Research reveals that 70% of Brazilians plan to spend up to R$ 250 on the Father's Day gift

This year's Father's Day promises to be more economical, as pointed out by a survey conducted by Koin, a fintech pioneer in online shopping installment with solutions from 'Buy Now, Pay Later’ (Buy Now, Pay Later). The survey, which mapped the purchase intention of consumers, revealed that almost 70% of Brazilians plan to spend between R$ 51 and R$ 250 at present for their parents.

According to the data, 39,8% of respondents intend to disburse between R$ 51 and R$ 150, while 30,1% plan to spend from R$ 151 to R$ 250. Other 7,3% said that they will spend between R$ 251 and R$ 350, and 51 consumers said that they can spend between RTP401101,101111101.10101.10101.101.10101.1101.

As for the type of gift, 25.2% of consumers should opt for clothing and accessories, 16.3% for perfumes and personal care products, and 10.6% for shoes. The survey also showed a drop in preference for electronics, which were chosen by only 8.1% of the participants, in contrast to the 2023 survey, where they had greater prominence.

The survey also highlighted the changes in the means of payment. About 24,4% of consumers intend to use installment payment, while the installment pix and the traditional pix will be used by 8,9% and 6,5% of consumers, respectively. The credit card remains the leader, with 47,2% preferably, followed by money, with 8,9%.

“Our survey shows that the Brazilian consumer is adapting to the new payment options, seeking alternatives that do not weigh so much in the pocket and avoid indebtedness in the” credit card, says Juana Angelim, Chief Operating Officer of Koin.

The data indicate a trend of greater propensity to installment payments, with 40.7% of consumers planning to split the payment twice, 22% up to five times and 17.1% more than five times. Only 20.3% of respondents opted for spot payment.

The survey was conducted between july 29 and august 2, with the participation of 150 people.
